The enterprise Wi-Fi system of UTStarcom that is based on IPPBX platform comprises the following five parts:
Call processing platform: This platform of UTStarcom is ECM2000, which can process VoWLAN phone calls based on IP. It can also connect via analog and digital circuit switch wiring, to PSTN, to provide basic voice service, supplementary services, Centrex service, SMS, etc. E C M 2000, Mobile
Controller and Controlled Access Points jointly form the wireless communication network VoWLAN within the enterprise and the private network. In addition to PRI interface uplink, ECM2000 can also provide SS7 and SIP unlink, making networking more flexible. ECM2000 itself can also serve as an IP PBX equipment, to provide enterprises with VoIP service, and support SIP and MGCP. ECM2000 can also operates as an independent media gateway, interworking with the soft switch network. ECM2000 supports iAD, SIP phone, WiFi Phone,
PC Phone, and other VoIP terminal access.
The Wi-Fi handsets of UTStarcom is industry leading for its high price performance, and extensively embraced by world leading VoIP operators of Vonage, Broadvoice and Viper networks.
Wireless access subsystem: This system is engaged in connecting wireless terminals into the wired network, and provide a path for wireless terminal access to enterprise resources. Auxiliary support subsystem: It is a collection of supporting equipments serving all the three systems. For example, the DHCP server allocating address for wireless terminals, the certificate server and authentication server for wireless security, and the SBC system for VoIP packages through the firewall. Operation management subsystem: It is composed of the NMS controlling and managing the above equipments, monitoring system and log system, as well as the charging system for business operation.
The E-Box platform can also provide virtual trunking function via the external servers, a function for trunk dispatching and multiparty meetings within the enterprise. It can speed up internal communication, add to teamwork cooperation, and improve efficiency. Effective convergence of the above subsystems into existing IP networks will bring for the enterprise a voice/broadband data hybrid network of low cost and high efficiency.
